The Spaceports Initiative
started as a way to combat the devastation caused by light pollution. As a child one of my core memories was visiting my family's cottage hours outside of the city. One night at around 2AM I found myself on the front porch is absolute awe, the cosmos looked unlike anything I had ever seen before, all sorts of colors and stars took up the sky. it's been 15 years since that day and I remember it like it was yesterday. It genuinely changed my life. Yet I realize that not everyone has a cottage in the middle of nowhere to see the stars from. That's why I think The Spaceports Oasis is so important. The impact that seeing the stars has on our worldview cannot be overstated. It is absolutely humbling and gives full perspective to our glorious position in this universe.
